About the Agency Sales Role

About this Role

The Event Producer leads and manages all aspects of events, project teams, and subcontracted vendors. Oversees the event development process, from the initial proposal phase to onsite event implementation. Effectively manages event teams regarding design, production, and status. Fosters high-level contact with new and existing clients.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Negotiates contracts with clients, venues, and select vendors.

About this Role

As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be at the heart of seamless event operations, responsible for onsite logistics for the team, fostering relationships with partners and clients, coordinating travel and accommodations, managing budgets and expenses, and more.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Event Logistics and Management

  • Manage all onsite logistics for crew members including, but not limited to onboarding freelance crew members, booking travel and accommodations, scheduling and assigning specific tasks to crew members, and communicating event guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with event staff and other departments.
  • Exhibiting willingness to assist event staff with their job functions during peak periods.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely completion of administrative tasks, such as credential distribution, coordinating catering and transportation planning, which directly affect the efficiency of the event operations and events setup service, and completion.

Financial Planning & Execution

  • Monitor costs, invoices, and cash flow for specific events to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Work with accounts payable every week on behalf of vendors and freelancers
  • Responsible for financial reporting post-event (invoicing and budget reconciliation)
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by assisting in forecasting costs for projects.

Client Success Management

  • Drive partner success and outcomes by understanding and mapping timelines.

About this Role

The Broadcast Control Center Engineer will oversee all technical operations for Van Wagner’s Broadcast Control Center in Raleigh, NC. Our new Broadcast Control Center is an expansive, full-service, remote production hub, designed with cutting-edge technology and backed by a talented team of producers, engineers, editors, and operators to provide broadcast production solutions for our clients.

We’re looking for self-starters who are driven, team-oriented, never shy away from a challenge, and have a can-do attitude, to join our fast-growing team. This is a great opportunity to work with some of the world’s leading sports and broadcast properties. This is not a travel position and requires that you have a flexible schedule.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee the day-to-day technical operation of Van Wagner’s Broadcast Control Center in Raleigh, NC.
  • Maintain all technical systems in the Broadcast Control Center, working closely with vendors and manufacturers to ensure optimal operation of all systems.
  • Plan both on-site and BCC technical operations for all REMI productions utilizing the Broadcast Control Center.
  • Manage the inbound and outbound equipment being shipped to and from remote sites, collaborating with the rest of the technical operations team to ensure that equipment is accounted for and organized.
  • Collaborate with the technical operations team on workflow improvements and project execution.
  • Interface with Van Wagner business development team and clients as needed to understand all technical requirements of projects to assist with guidance and planning.
  • Work with the technical operations team to assist in the development of annual capital budgets for continued improvements to the Broadcast Control Center and associated broadcast systems.
  • Develop and facilitate maintenance schedules for all broadcast equipment.

 

What We’re Looking for:
  • Experience planning and delivering REMI broadcast productions.
  • 10+ Years’ experience in the broadcast industry with a focus on sports and live entertainment
  • High proficiency in all broadcast technical systems, especially those utilized in REMI productions.
  • The ability to design, install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and/or repair television broadcast equipment.
  • Knowledge of signal acquisition and distribution workflows utilizing a plethora of mediums e.g., Satellite, Fiber, EPL, MPLS, Public Internet, and others
  • Understanding of signal encoding and decoding utilizing various platforms and standards, e.g., I.e., JPEG-2000, JPEG-XS, H264, HEVC, H265, MPEG-4, SRT, RTMP, RIST, WebRTC & others
  • Experience working in both IP and baseband broadcast facilities.

About the General Manager Role

The General Manager role is a critical part the Van Wagner teams that operate locally in support of a specific collegiate institution or conference partner.  We’re looking for entrepreneurial self-starters that are driven, team-oriented, never shy away from a challenge, and have a can-do attitude to join our fast-growing team. This is a great opportunity to grow a career in sports marketing.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overall revenue generation and cost containment for the business operation.
  • As a representative of the University/Conference, you will build and maintain positive working relationships with local and regional businesses, the campus community, and especially the athletics department (or conference office where applicable)
  • Development and implementation of annual business plan that will allow the Partnership to maximize revenue, exposure for the institutional brand, and value to the corporate partners involved with the program
  • Management of expenses of the venture according to an agreed-upon annual budget
  • Management of the overall sponsorship fulfillment and execution, including direct client services duties for sponsor accounts.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for institution’s current sponsors. Work with decision-makers at these companies to extend and increase their commitment to the school.
  • Manage the relevant reporting of financial information for sales revenue as well as operations of the program to all pertinent parties.
  • Plan and manage internal communications and awareness of corporate and University direction, mission, and goals in the marketplace
  • Develop and maintain relationships with top University Administrators
  • Work with existing sponsors to grow and extend their partnerships with the school
  • Prospecting, scheduling, and conducting initial discovery meetings with new businesses that would benefit from associating with the school or conference
  • Prepare and present top-notch PowerPoint proposals to new businesses that thoughtfully story tell what the partnerships can look like
  • Negotiate with new businesses to secure new sponsors
  • Draft and coordinate agreements, managing all relevant information in our database
  • Fulfill the terms of agreements that provide advertising, marketing, and promotional benefits to sponsor businesses. This can include platforms such as TV & Radio broadcasts, websites, social media, digital and fixed signage, print media, e-newsletters, fan experiences, event activations, and much more.
  • Collaborate with the Account Executive and other team members on game days for sponsor activations as well as the entertainment of current or prospective sponsors
  • Capture proof of performance examples and provide summaries to share with sponsors
  • Update new business development activities in the CRM system (currently Salesforce)

About the Director of Sales Role

The Director of Sales role is a critical part the Van Wagner teams that operate locally in support of a specific collegiate institution or conference partner.  We’re looking for entrepreneurial self-starters that are driven, team-oriented, never shy away from a challenge, and have a can-do attitude to join our fast-growing team. This is a great opportunity to grow a career in sports marketing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • As a representative of the University/Conference, you will build and maintain positive working relationships with local and regional businesses, the campus community, and especially the athletics department (or conference office where applicable)
  • Work with existing sponsor businesses to grow and extend their partnerships with the school or conference
  • Prospecting, scheduling, and conducting initial discovery meetings with new businesses that would benefit from associating with the school or conference
  • Ideation and collaboration with the General Manager to shape what partnerships between new businesses and the school or conference can look like
  • Prepare and present top-notch PowerPoint proposals to new businesses that thoughtfully story tell what the partnerships can look like
  • Negotiate with new businesses to secure new sponsors
  • Draft and coordinate agreements, managing all relevant information in our division-wide database
  • Fulfill the terms of agreements that provide advertising, marketing, and promotional benefits to sponsor businesses. This can include platforms such as TV & Radio broadcasts, websites, social media, digital and fixed signage, print media, e-newsletters, fan experiences, event activations, and much more.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and other team members on game days for sponsor activations as well as the entertainment of current or prospective sponsors
  • Capture proof of performance examples and provide fulfillment summaries to share with current sponsors
  • Update new business development activities in the CRM system (currently Salesforce)

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Ideally, some experience working in marketing, advertising, sales, or events
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends and, on rare occasions, holidays. (Don’t worry, we make up for it with time off and remote/hybrid scheduling at other times of the year!)
  • Great interpersonal communication skills
  • A willingness to talk to people you have never met before
  • Great listener who can appreciate the needs of different organizations and can suggest relevant ideas for how those organizations can partner
  • Demonstrated professionalism
  • Energetic and self-motivated attitude
  • Competitive response to challenges (A “Bring it on!” attitude)
  • Hard work and persistence
  • Comfort with being uncomfortable (this is how we grow!)
  • Coach-ability
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Proficient with Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok)
  • CRM experience
  • Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and have a clean driving record
