Mark H. Johnston, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Johnston is an experienced investment banker and long-time member of the Van Wagner team. He worked from 1980 to 1990 for Chemical Bank, where he was Vice President and co-head of a media investment-banking team. Since first meeting Mr. Schaps in 1986, Mr. Johnston has been continuously involved with Van Wagner, originally as an outside financial advisor and subsequently as a principal. From 1990 to 1993, he was a director at Samuel Montagu Inc., then the U.S. investment banking division of HSBC. In 1993, Mr. Johnston co-founded Dunn Johnston & Company, Inc., an investment-banking firm that was then a NASD-member. In 1998, he sold his interest in DJ & Co. to become the sole non-Schaps partner in Van Wagner Enterprises, the holding company for the Schaps' business interests. Mr. Johnston graduated from Princeton University and the Fordham University School of Law. He is a trustee of Harlem Academy in New York City.
