The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) is the National Governing Body (NGB) that oversees skiing and snowboarding in the United States. The organization is made up of the U.S. Ski Team and U.S. Snowboarding. It is the preeminent winter NGB whose athletes receive more on-air exposure during the Olympics than any other sport. Beyond training the athletes that go on to represent the U.S. at the Olympics every four years, the USSA stages the highest level skiing and snowboarding competitions annually on domestic soil: The Alpine World Cups, The Freestyle World Cups and the Snowboard Grand Prix Series.
The USSA's events are broadcast nationally on NBC Sports and Versus. There are 9 NBC telecasts which take place from December through March. Van Wagner Sports and Entertainment's Media and Property Representation works on behalf of the USSA in helping to secure corporate sponsors along with selling the NBC television commercial inventory and online positions on usskiteam.com and ussnowboarding.com.
